Killing Red Sonja #2
Writers: Mark Russell, Bryce Ingman
Artist: Craig Rousseau
Cover: Christian Ward
FC | 32 pages | Action/Adventure | $3.99 | Teen+

I’m getting used to Red Sonja comic books being funny. After enjoying the humor in Red Sonja: Age of Chaos #4, now Dynamite Entertainment‘s Killing Red Sonja #2 has wowed me with this lighthearted story about a boy emperor’s quest to kill Sonja the Red.

Of course, since this is a Red Sonja comic, lighthearted means witty dialogue and funny situations interspersed with maiming and killing. Mark Russell and Bryce Ingman have come up with a very enjoyable issue in this mini-series that spins out from the Red Sonja title written by Russell. With Craig Rousseau’s beautiful, fairy tale-like art perfectly complementing the writing.

It’s indirectly a tale about Sonja the Red — the young and untamed orphan who will one day be known as Red Sonja. But it’s really the story of the young Prince Cyril, now Emperor of Zamora, who is out to avenge his father Dragan the Magnificent, who was killed by Sonja the Red. Spoilers ahead.

Imagine that people among us, all of whom have had a near-death experience, now have an ability called a Soul-Skill. This allows them to access the skill sets of the dead. Fighter. Surgeon. Sniper. Anything. Welcome to the world of Graveyard Wars.

ABLAZE  has announced that it will publish Graveyard Wars as a series of original graphic novels, with the first graphic novel set for publication this September. Graveyard Wars is written and created by AJ Lieberman, illustrated and colored by Andrew Sebastian Kwan, and lettered (with color design) by Darren Rawlings.

Graveyard Wars is my first new book in a few years and my only goal was to be sure from a story and art standpoint it surpassed the others. And I think we did it. It’s a fun, action story that doesn’t fully reveal itself until the very last page. My only other hope? That it would attract the attention of a director/producer like Chad Stahelski so I can hear all the batshit stuff that goes on during the [John] Wick movies,” Leiberman said in a press statement.

"How You Like That" surpassed 100 million views on YouTube in record time.

Guess who dethroned BTS? BLACKPINK’s music video for its highly-anticipated comeback single “How You Like That” has set a new YouTube record for 24-hour views.

“The K-pop powerhouse group’s dynamic new single had 82.4 million views in the first 24 hours of release on YouTube, and was the No. 1 trending video on the platform. Not only did BLACKPINK beat BTS for this record. The Kpop girl group composed of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa also surpassed 100 million views in record time. “How You Like That” reached the milestone in one day, eight hours, and 22 minutes, according to the Soompi article.

Who needs the lord of the jungle when Jungle Girl is around? Frank Cho’s Jungle Girl Complete Omnibus is an exhilarating adventure starring the beautiful, charismatic, and deadly Jana Sky-Born.

This omnibus from Dynamite Entertainment contains all three seasons of the Jungle Girl series, collected for the first time in one book. Writer and artist Cho doesn’t waste time, plunging us right into epic action from the start.

In fact, epic is an understatement. We’re talking Jana Sky-Born hunting Mosasaurus for food. I was hooked immediately, and it really sets the tone for this graphic novel. It’s larger than life, taking place on an unknown island that’s somehow a Lost World with cavemen, dinosaurs, and other creatures from different eras. Spoilers ahead.

TRIPKO transport card helps Filipinos commute safely

By using TRIPKO, the passenger just needs to tap the cash card on the TICKETKO automated ticketing system without any contact with the conductor or driver.

With thousands going back to the workplace in the Philippines amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the commuting public has to adapt to the new normal for their protection. The Department of Transportation has released community guidelines to address this, one of which is the mandatory use of cashless payments in public transportation. This has made contactless payment technology such as the TRIPKO transport card more important than ever.

Apart from the normal challenges of using public transportation, commuters must now also practice social distancing. They also worry about interacting with other people and touching shared items such as cash. This is why more Filipinos have embraced digital amid the pandemic. TRIPKO, which works in conjunction with the TICKETKO automated ticketing system, is geographically the most widely-accepted transport card in the country today. Using the TRIPKO transport card minimizes three main contact points. This allows transport companies to better protect the commuting public and their own employees.

“With TICKETKO and the TRIPKO card, there is no need for manual tickets, no need to hold money, and no need for manual logging in each and every trip manifest. The reloadable payment card is not new to the world, but the Philippines has been lagging behind our neighboring countries. Journeytech would like to contribute to nation-building with the TRIPKO card. Contactless payment is here to stay as our technology is able to address the general need for safety, hygiene, and ultimately convenience for the commuting public,” Journeytech Marketing Director Louise Yu told Digital Life Asia.
