Get ready for more bickering and apocalypse-preventing when the dysfunctional Hargreeves family returns in “The Umbrella Academy” Season 3.
Netflix has officially confirmed that “The Umbrella Academy” Season 3 is on its way. Most have reacted to this news with joy, except for Five, who has been downing one cup of coffee after another while muttering that he has to do all the world-saving again.

Production will begin in February in Toronto, Canada. The cast set to reprise their roles in “The Umbrella Academy” Season 3 include Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore.
The Season 3 order includes 10 one-hour episodes and will be produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, for Netflix.
Steve Blackman (“Fargo”, “Altered Carbon”) will return as showrunner and executive producer. The executive producers for Season 3 alongside Blackman include Jeff F. King (executive producer and director), Mike Richardson (executive producer), Keith Goldberg (executive producer), Jesse McKeown (executive producer), Gerard Way (co-executive producer), and Gabriel Bá (co-executive producer).
Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed “The Umbrella Academy” series premiered this year on July 31.
In Season 2, Five’s time jump to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse scattered the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three-year period. Starting in 1960.
Those stuck in the past for years ended up building new lives and moving on, certain they were the only ones who survived. Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which — spoiler alert! — turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?).
The Umbrella Academy then had to find a way to reunite, figure out what caused this new doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins.
