Cristiano Ronaldo is new Free Fire character Chrono

One of the greatest football players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo, is now a game character in one of the world’s most popular mobile games.

Garena, the developer of Free Fire, has announced Cristiano Ronaldo as its latest global brand ambassador. Not only will the Portuguese footballer become an all-new Free Fire character named Chrono, but also he will have a whole universe built around him. Garena will have an exclusive live stream on Dec. 13 for the official unveiling of Chrono in Free Fire. Fans can watch the unveiling live in-game in Free Fire, which is available on iOS and Android, or catch the highlights on the official Free Fire Facebook page.

“This is a really significant partnership for Free Fire. Cristiano Ronaldo is a role model for many of us, and being able to collaborate with him and present him to hundreds of millions of people around the world is truly exciting,” said Garena Free Fire Producer Harold Teo in a press statement.

“Our partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo offers even more ways for our communities all over the world to enjoy Free Fire,” Teo said.

Players can look forward to playing as Cristiano Ronaldo in the game, in the all-new character Chrono.​ More details will be unveiled in the Chrono microsite.

The football great expressed his delight at partnering with one of the world’s most popular mobile battle royale titles, particularly as he worked closely with the team to bring Chrono to life.

“It’s a great feeling having not only a character in Free Fire modeled after me, but also having the whole universe within the game changing along with it. The Garena team has worked into the game tons of new features and elements for Operation Chrono. I hope Free Fire players all over the world are just as excited as I am,” he said.
