BLACKPINK main vocalist Rosé will guest tomorrow, March 12, on YouTube’s weekly music show “RELEASED” and count down to the world premiere of her new music video, “On The Ground”.
“On The Ground”, the title track from her long-awaited solo debut album, “R”, will premiere tomorrow at 1 PM Philippine Standard Time. YG Entertainment has also revealed that Rosé will perform “On The Ground” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on March 16. Previously, Rosé gave a sneak preview of “Gone”, the sub-title track from her solo album, at BLACKPINK’s first livestream concert on Jan. 31, BLACKPINK: THE SHOW.
Rosé on ‘RELEASED’
“I’ll reveal to you what artists are on my playlist, and I will perform solos on various random instruments. All leading up to the world premiere of my new video, ‘On The Ground’,” Rosé said in the trailer for this week’s episode of “RELEASED”.
BLACKPINK was actually the first artist featured in “RELEASED” when it premiered on Oct. 2. They counted down to the launch of their first full album in South Korea and the world premiere of the music video of its title track “Lovesick Girls”.
Rosé has already broken a record for female K-pop soloists, surpassing 400,000 copies in stock pre-orders of her solo debut album “R”, according to this Soompi article.
400,000 is the highest number of stock pre-orders achieved by a female soloist in Korea. This number is a sum of orders from not only Korea, but also many other regions including China, Southeast Asia, United States, Japan, and Europe. The amount is expected to increase even further as a few more days stills remain until the album’s release.
Previously, BLACKPINK’s first full album “THE ALBUM” had broken the K-pop girl group record for stock pre-orders as well, reaching almost 1 million copies. Now, Rosé holds this record both as a group and as a soloist.
