BTS Meal coming soon to a McDonald’s near you

With the BTS Meal, you can have fries with your K-pop. As part of a global partnership between McDonald’s and BIGHIT MUSIC, the label of BTS, McDonald’s Philippines has announced that the BTS Meal will arrive in the Philippines on June 18.

So what’s a BTS Meal? The hugely popular K-pop boy band’s signature order includes a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium World Famous Fries, medium Coca-Cola, and Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald’s South Korea. The BTS Meal, which will launch in the US on May 26, will be available on different dates depending on the country. For instance, South Korea will get it on May 27. “No matter who you are, everyone has a go-to order at McDonald’s — even international superstars like BTS. This band is truly a global phenomenon with a fanbase that knows no borders, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the BTS Meal to our customers in the Philippines starting June,” said McDonald’s Philippines Marketing & Channels Head Oliver Rabatan in a press statement.

Composed of RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, BTS is a global phenomenon and one of the most successful bands — K-pop or otherwise — in history.

“The band has great memories with McDonald’s. We’re excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world,” BIGHIT MUSIC said in a press statement.

Apart from topping the music charts, BTS is also highly sought after as a brand ambassador in different countries.

In the Philippines, telco Smart Communications unveiled BTS as its brand ambassador in January.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, where the BTS Meal is arriving on June 25, Indonesian ecommerce giant Tokopedia announced on Jan. 25 that BTS and BLACKPINK are its 2021 brand ambassadors.

Tokopedia made the announcement when the two K-pop groups performed in its Waktu Indonesia Belanja (WIB) TV Show (Indonesia Shopping Time TV Show).
