The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” teaser trailer — arguably the most anticipated one of all time — has finally dropped this morning.

Yes, the official “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios wanted us to see — not the leaked trailer with unfinished visual effects that spread on social media on Aug. 23.

“For the record, I never wanted to lie to you. But how do you tell someone that you’re Spider-Man?” Peter Parker (Tom Holland) says to MJ (Zendaya) as the two of them are talking about the fallout of having Spider-Man’s secret identity revealed to the whole world by Mysterio.

Strange days

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high stakes of being a superhero.

The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer shows us the chaos that has erupted, as not only Peter’s life, but also the lives of his family and friends are turned upside down.

“This isn’t about me. This is hurting a lot of people,” Peter says in the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trailer.

Worried about the danger his unmasking poses to the people he holds dear, including Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), MJ, and Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), Peter decides to go to the one person he thinks can help him: Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Peter’s wish? That Doctor Strange would cast a spell that would make the whole world forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.

As Doctor Strange says, be careful what you wish for.

Something goes wrong with the spell. And things get very strange.

“We tampered with the stability of spacetime. The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little,” Doctor Strange is heard saying as the trailer shows all hell apparently breaking loose.

And then we see a very familiar character appear.

“Hello, Peter.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home” will be distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures, the local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
