Are you a fan or creator of ASMR? xtingles is launching the world’s first dedicated ASMR non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace on Sept. 16. ASMR, which stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, refers to the pleasant mental and bodily sensations caused by external stimuli, including sounds and visuals. They are known to reduce stress and anxiety, relieve the symptoms of insomnia, and trigger pleasant feelings. It has even given birth to a popular genre on YouTube, where over 13 million ASMR videos have been published, according to a 2018 University of Sheffield study on the physiological benefits of ASMR.

The mobile-first xtingles platform makes use of NFT technology to store audio-visual ASMR art on the blockchain. xtingles is built on Flow, the same blockchain platform created by the team behind CryptoKitties and NBA Top Shot. The first xtingles NFT drop, Marcus Chong’s Free Like A Butterfly, will be released on Sept. 16 together with the marketplace launch. This will be followed by additional drops by popular artists, including Lev Cameron, Miss Manganese, and George.

Therapeutic NFTs

“This would be the world’s first to spotlight therapeutic NFTs that can help one feel deeply relaxed and satisfied,” said xtingles Chief Visionary Officer Andrew Fai in a press statement.

The ownership rights for each sound and video content produced will be coded into smart contracts as a secure and easily accessible solution. This allows NFT collectors and fans to find fully personalized ASMR creations for themselves and claim them as their own.

“I am extremely excited about the xtingles platform and its potential for ASMR content creators, collectors, and the NFT space. I expect xtingles to be a pioneer in the world of NFTs, allowing artists and content creators to connect more closely with their fans and monetize their work in a meaningful way. I look forward to working with xtingles on this amazing project,” George said.

xtingles’ recent NFT drop on Flow in cooperation with multichain wallet Blocto App, garnered more than 90,000 collectors. It ended up being the largest offering on the platform.

Last month, xtingles was invited to the first Mint Festival. This online virtual summit was organized by CryptoKitties founding team Dapper Labs.

Users can check out the xtingles Manifesto and join the project’s Discord to take part in ASMR NFT conversations.
