Jupiter’s Legacy, one of the most critically-acclaimed superhero series of the past decade, will have its trade paperbacks sent back to print this September.  Image Comics said this will give readers a chance to catch up before the Netflix Originals TV adaptation streams later this year.

Written by Mark Millar (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kick-Ass), Jupiter’s Legacy is set in mid-century America. It follows the world’s greatest superheroes as they face epic threats in public while battling private scandals behind closed doors.

The trade paperback collection will have four volumes, featuring cover art by the multiple Eisner Award-winning Frank Quitely.

When it comes to being a comic book fan, one of the biggest in the Philippines would have to be Jiggy Cruz. In fact, he used to blog about comic books for Yahoo! Philippines. That was how we met, when I invited him to join our Yahoo! Southeast Asia blog network, which I was overseeing at the time.

Nowadays, Cruz is in the entertainment business as a producer, working with people who create videos for brands and services. And of course he is still a big comic book fan. He loves Marvel Comics, in particular, and his favorite superhero is Spider-Man.

Cruz, by the way, also happens to be the grandson of the late Philippine President Cory Aquino, who restored democracy to the Philippines in the 1986 People Power Revolution.

When did he first encounter Spider-Man?

“It was Christmas 89 or 90, I believe. My Lola gave me this Spider-Man action figure and a Spidey Dragster. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. It was because of ‘Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends’ that I got to know more about Spider-Man. Shooting webs and swinging was so fun to watch,” Cruz told Digital Life Asia.
