One Touch SSD: Chic storage for your on-the-go lifestyle

Remember when ancient external storage devices were clunky? Well, Seagate has released an ultra-portable SSD storage device that not only wins points for functionality, but also fashion sense: the One Touch SSD.

The data solutions provider is positioning the pocket-sized One Touch SSD as the perfect accessory for today’s on-the-go lifestyle. The stylish storage device comes in either white or black woven fabric with a cozy, textured feel.

Global datasphere

“We have more ways than ever to instantaneously consume content, driving the need to create, distribute and manage data efficiently,” Seagate Vice President of Marketing Jeff Fochtman said in a press statement.

Why will we need more storage solutions? A recent IDC white paper sponsored by Seagate said five billion consumers are currently interacting with data every single day. IDC Senior Vice President Dave Reinsel said our increasingly digital world will create, replicate, and consume vast amounts of data. This is called the global datasphere.

By 2025, that number will jump to six billion, or 75 percent of the world’s population. More than ever, we will need quick access to our digital data.

“In 2025, each connected person will have at least one data interaction every 18 seconds. Many of these interactions are because of the billions of IoT (Internet of Things) devices connected across the globe, which are expected to create over 90 ZB (zetabytes) of data in 2025,” the IDC white paper “The Digitization of the World: From Edge to Core” stated.

Storage as part of our lifestyle

Maybe we’ll use them to back up photo memories. Or to share documents and videos. Whatever may be the case, portable storage devices will become even more indispensable in our digital world.

The One Touch SSD is the latest addition to Seagate’s leading storage portfolio. It includes Seagate’s premium Toolkit with Sync Plus continuous backup software. It features file transfer speeds of up to 400MB/s (max sequential read/write MB/s) and is compatible with both PC and Mac (exFAT) via USB 3.0 interface (braided USB 3.0 cable included).

The One Touch SSD also includes a complimentary two-month subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan, a one-year subscription to Mylio Create, and a three-year warranty.

Seagate’s One Touch SSDs are available in all Seagate authorized resellers, including Abacus, Villman, Silicon Valley, Electroworld, PCWorx, Thinking Tools, Octagon, and PC Express outlets. They are also available through the Seagate Flagship Stores on Lazada and Shopee. Retail prices are Php4,909 for 500GB, and Php9,619 for 1TB.
