BrightWin wins in LINE Thailand People’s Choice Awards

Thai actors Vachirawit Chivaaree (better known as Bright Vachirawit) and Metawin Opas-iamkajorn (better known as Win Metawin), whom their fans call BrightWin, were named Best Couple last night at the LINE Thailand People’s Choice Awards 2020.

BrightWin starred in the boys’ love Thai TV series “2gether: The Series” and its sequel “Still 2gether”. The immense popularity of “2gether: The Series” helped put an international spotlight on the boys’ love genre, with Netflix also acquiring the streaming rights for the show and its sequel.

We are still recovering from IZ*ONE’s stunning rendition of Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi’s “Monster” in “Oneiric Theater”. How about you?

“Oneiric Theater’, the first online concert of 12-member South Korean-Japanese girl group IZ*ONE, truly delivered on the promise of a unique virtual experience powered by AR (augmented reality) and XR (extended reality).

More than the virtual effects, however, it was the real talent of all 12 members that shone through. They took their fans — dubbed WIZ*ONE — on a magical journey across different thematic stages, performing tracks not just from their comeback EP “Oneiric Diary”, but also their previous albums.

Gamers and K-pop fans already living in virtual world

Gamers and K-pop fans have been living in the virtual world for many years now. Decades, in fact, in the case of gamers. Now it’s time for the rest of the world to catch up.

In last week’s column piece, I talked about how geeks are inheriting the earth. Today, I’m going to point out that this new world we’re inheriting is an increasingly virtual one. There is no going back to the pre-COVID world. The digital transformation of the world is here to stay, and this will have a profound impact on human society, changing the way we work and play.
