The COVID-19 pandemic has not only changed the workplace, but also the classroom. To help schools make the transition to remote teaching, Lenovo, in collaboration with Microsoft, is sponsoring two presentations in the ongoing EduTech Live Webinar series.
“Education is one of the sectors that have welcomed the transformation brought about by social distancing and other precautionary health measures,” said Lenovo Philippines President and General Manager Michael Ngan in a press statement.
“Driven by our vision of ‘Smarter Technology for All’, Lenovo has collaborated with educators to create customer-centric innovative solutions catered to students. These solutions will enhance students’ digital literacy by providing them with optimal learning experiences that will prepare them to excel in the digitalizing world,” he said.
Going virtual
EduTech is an annual education conference. Experts gather to discuss the use of technology and innovation to advance quality education in the Philippines. EduTech Webinars are free and open for all upon registration. They can be streamed via EduTech’s official website and will then be available on demand via Lenovo’s official Facebook page.
Lenovo’s first sponsored webinar, “Going Virtual: Shifting to Remote Teaching and Learning”, will stream on May 28 at 11 AM.
The webinar will identify the challenges faced by schools as they constantly keep up with digitalization. It aims to introduce new ways of maximizing technology as an educational tool to be able to deliver efficient teaching methods online during the quarantine. It will also discuss what the “new norm” will most likely be for students and teachers, at least up to early next year.

Classroom of the future
Meanwhile, the second Lenovo-sponsored webinar will be “Improve Student Learning with Technology Transformation”. It will be available to stream on June 2 at 11 AM.
This webinar will underscore the need to create the classroom of the future to help bridge the school-home gap. It will introduce educational software, such as Microsoft Teams for Education and Lenovo’s Lan School. This will assist educators in setting up well-structured digital smart classrooms to improve student learning and accelerate positive outcomes.
Those interested may sign up here for this second webinar.
Representing Lenovo as the webinar speakers are industry experts Rich Henderson, Product Marketing Director; Delia DeCourcy, Global Education Solutions Manager; and Hung Chuan Khoo, Education Transform and Development Director.
Meanwhile, the speakers from Microsoft will be Paolo Balinas, Enterprise Channel Manager for Education; and John Erwin Magno, Global Training Partner of Microsoft and President and Senior Trainer from Line Learning and Development Solutions.
