Are you ready to hunt giant monsters? Resident badass Milla Jovovich definitely is, as shown in the “Monster Hunter” official trailer.
Based on Capcom’s global video game series phenomenon, the “Monster Hunter” action-adventure fantasy film is written for the screen and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. Anderson also directed the “Resident Evil” film series that starred his spouse Jovovich and was also based on a popular video game franchise of Capcom. Apart from Jovovich, the film stars Tony Jaa, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Josh Helman, Jin Au-Yeung, and Ron Perlman.
A world of monsters
As the “Monster Hunter” official trailer shows us, behind our world, there is another. A world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity.
When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Jovovich) and her unit (Harris, Good, and Boneta) to this new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower.
In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures.
As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter action role-playing game franchise started with the release of Monster Hunter for PlayStation 2 in 2004. It has since become Capcom’s second bestselling video game franchise, just behind Resident Evil. Capcom has released Monster Hunter titles on different platforms, including PC, home consoles, handheld consoles, and mobile devices.
Columbia Pictures, the local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International, will distribute “Monster Hunter” in the Philippines. Connect with #MonsterHunterMovie on social media and tag @columbiapicph.
