Singapore-based gaming startup Goama will expand and pursue new partnerships following their latest investment round with the participation of Ludus Venture Studio, a Turkey-based venture studio founded by gaming and ad tech industry veterans.

“We are driving a paradigm shift in advertising, providing an opportunity for brands all over the world to deliver new and highly effective marketing experiences within the app. With Ludus’ knowledge edge in this space, we will be able to capitalize on this opportunity in the best possible way,” Goama Co-Founder and CEO Taro Araya told Digital Life Asia.

Goama expansion plans

A gaming platform built for businesses, Goama takes the best of both worlds from esports and casual games to create a competitive casual gaming environment that allows companies to build online communities and reward users with real-world prizes.

One example of this is the startup’s partnership last year with Philippine mobile wallet GCash, which integrated Goama Games with its GLife feature as part of its transformation into a lifestyle super app.

“The new funding will be channeled into expanding the team, enhancing the tech stack to efficiently support the scale of users from new partners in the pipeline,” Araya said.

“As Ludus, we are excited to be a part of Goama. There is a huge potential in the Super App market, as super apps act like the connector between businesses and users and have an immense effect on increased number of loyal consumers. We believe Goama will become a key player in this market and will bring a new solution to the major challenges that are on advertisers’ plate for a long time,” said Ludus Venture Studio Partner Volkan Biçer said in a press statement.

Goama has key partners in over 17 countries which have recorded more than two million minutes of game time per week.

“The platform was built from the ground up to support apps, and we can gamify an app within 2-4 weeks. With engagement and gamification at the core of our product design, we have been able to deliver a compelling proposition and effective solution to common problems faced by apps,” said Goama Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Wayne Kennedy in a press statement.

Headquartered in Besiktas, Istanbul, Ludus aims to pioneer the venture studio model in Turkey by providing in-house expertise, strategic guidance, and funding for entrepreneurs and startups.
