Thirteen minutes before “TRESE” premieres on Netflix at midnight, celebrate the arrival of this highly anticipated Filipino anime series by joining the special countdown event, “TRESE Before Midnight”.
Just head on over to the official Netflix Philippines Facebook page at 11:47 tonight, June 10, to join the live countdown event. “TRESE Before Midnight” features special guest appearances from star Liza Soberano (Alexandra Trese in the Filipino language version); executive producer, director and showrunner Jay Oliva; writer and executive producer Tanya Yuson; and TRESE graphic novel creators Budjette Tan and KaJO Baldisimo. Plus you can already watched the first five minutes of Episode 1 of “TRESE”, which was posted at midnight of June 10.
Not Alive concert
This special countdown event will also play host to the Not Alive concert with Filipino band, UDD (formerly Up Dharma Down), as they perform the official original soundtrack of this Netflix Original Anime Series, “PAAGI.”
This will be the Pinoy band’s first ever concert with a ghost audience — and those who submitted an entry to be part of the concert might just see a ghost version of themselves in the crowd.
Netflix Philippines has also tweeted a teaser for “TRESE After Dark”, the official aftershow that will also drop on June 11.
Here’s what Soberano had to say about the aftershow.
Spotlight on Philippine mythology
Based on the critically acclaimed Philippine graphic novels, this six-episode Netflix Original Animated Series will now bring Philippine mythology to a global audience when it premieres on June 11 — right before Independence Day in the Philippines on June 12.
Set in a Manila where the mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding among humans, the series will show Alexandra Trese going head to head with a criminal underworld comprised of malevolent supernatural beings.
Joining Soberano (“My Ex and Whys”, “Alone/Together”) in the Filipino language version are Simon dela Cruz (as Crispin and Basilio), Apollo Abraham (Captain Guerrero), Christopher Carlo Caling (Hank), Christian Velarde (Nuno), and Eugene Adalia (Anton Trese). Well-respected Filipino Language Voice Artist Director Rudolf Baldonado will direct the Filipino voice talents.
Meanwhile, Darren Criss (“The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”), Jon Jon Briones (“Ratched”), Nicole Scherzinger (“Moana”), Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”), Lou Diamond Phillips (“La Bamba”) and Dante Basco (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”) will join Filipino-Canadian actress Shay Mitchell (“YOU”, “Pretty Little Liars”), who was previously announced as the voice of Alexandra Trese in the English version.
