“BLACKPINK is the revolution,” the K-pop girl group said when they debuted on August 8, 2016. Now, as they continue their global success story, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are appearing on the October 2020 cover of the US edition of ELLE, which has declared that “the future is BLACKPINK”.

Apart from the group cover, each member will have her own individual cover for the October 2020 issue.

Netflix BLACKPINK documentary to ‘Light Up the Sky’

BLACKPINK is the revolution. And the revolution is going global with the first Netflix K-pop original documentary, “BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky”.

This certainly has been a momentous year for the popular K-pop girl group, which has been making history time and again. Not only are they coming out with their first full album in South Korea on Oct. 2, but they also debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Ice Cream“, their collaboration with international pop star Selena Gomez. This is a career-best rank for BLACKPINK, and also makes them the first K-pop girl group to enter the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Now, they are making history again with the Netflix BLACKPINK documentary, which comes out on Oct. 14.

Free K-pop concerts on May 25 and 27 via TikTok

TikTok is offering free K-pop concerts as part of its coordinated COVID-19 relief efforts around the world.

Attention, K-pop fans! Monsta X, iKon, Kang Daniel, AKMU, Apink, and more will perform today, May 25, at 4 PM Philippine Standard Time. Dubbed as “TikTok Stage Live From Seoul”, this will be the first of two free K-pop concerts from TikTok.

TikTok is launching these live vertical-format K-pop concerts for the first time. These free concerts are part of its coordinated COVID-19 relief efforts around the world. The second concert, “TikTok Stage With HIPHOPPLAYA”, will be held on May 27, 7 PM Philippine Standard Time. The May 27 lineup includes Jay Park, Zico, Epik High, Crush and Dean, and more superstars. For every viewer who tunes in to the free K-pop concerts, TikTok will donate US$0.50. All funds raised will go towards supporting charity efforts for those most affected by COVID-19.
