Ten teams from Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore will battle it out in the VALORANT Pacific Open for a prize pool of US$20,000.

Esports push with Ignition Series

Riot Games and Cyber Games Arena (CGA) have joined forces to host this series of regional tournaments. CGA is a leading esports event organizer from Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The VALORANT Pacific Open is Southeast Asia’s entry in the VALORANT Ignition Series. This will spotlight a select number of tournaments each week to help discover talented players and build global recognition for top VALORANT teams.

The Ignition Series is the publisher’s first step to build a thriving esport around VALORANT. To produce the VALORANT Ignition Series, Riot Games has partnered with more than 20 esports organizations. This will allow it to create unique competitive events around the world.

“We’re thrilled to pull together the best from gaming and esports to deliver a program that will showcase VALORANT on a global scale. The Ignition Series will unlock the creative potential of some of our top partners. It will help us build an esport from the ground up that is authentic to the VALORANT community,” Whalen Rozelle, Senior Director of Esports at Riot Games, said in a previous press statement.

VALORANT is a free-to-play competitive 5v5 character-based tactical shooter for the PC. It features high-fidelity gunplay and a diverse arsenal of guns. The game also has agents with unique abilities and competitively tuned maps for thousands of hours of play.

Riot Games will support the Ignition Series events with amplification through multiple publishing channels. This includes a dedicated landing with an updated schedule, and guiding tournament organizers to provide a best-in-class experience week over week.
