According to Lenovo Legion ambassador Diviny Aldover, more popularly known online as simply Diviny, gaming has definitely made a big difference in her life.

“Gaming helped me improve in various areas such as problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, and multitasking. It also helped improve my social skills as well since gaming introduced me to a lot of new friends online. What I also love the most about gaming is that it lets me escape from my problems in the real world for a while and that I get to meet a lot of people, even from different parts of the world,” she told Digital Life Asia.

Passion for gaming

She said gaming has also helped her cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Playing games helped bring positivity in myself in times of crisis. Gaming is a great stress reliever, and it also helps me connect with other people which is something that we all need right now since we really can’t visit our friends due to travel restrictions,” she said.

It was actually her younger brother who introduced Aldover to gaming.

“Counter-Strike was the first PC game that I played,” she said.

Asked to name her favorite game of all time, Aldover replied: “This is hard to answer since there are a lot of games that I love, but I think my most favorite game of all time would be Counter-Strike, Everything that I learned from gaming such as the most basic skills and shooting enemies began in CS. It’s also the game that made me fall in love with the FPS (first-person shooter) genre.“

Her passion for gaming eventually led Aldover to streaming.

“I started streaming ​in​ 2018. Interacting with people from anywhere in the world is my favorite thing about streaming and gaming. My goal in streaming is to be able to inspire someone, somewhere. For me, making people happy and inspired is the most fulfilling ‘job’ a streamer can achieve.”

What does Aldover like most about being a Legion ambassador for Lenovo Philippines?

“Being Lenovo Legion’s ambassador not only makes me feel proud of myself. My family, friends, and supporters are proud, too. I’ve always wondered how it feels to be an ambassador or an endorser for an esteemed brand like Lenovo. Lenovo Legion made me experience that and it’s a dream come true.

“What’s great about working with Lenovo Legion is that they allowed me to do stuff that I’ve been planning to do for a long time. My first project, for example, was an unboxing and review video of the Legion Y540, something which I’ve always wanted to do. I was also able to post photos of me together with the device on my official Facebook page. I really enjoyed that because it was sort of a dream come true moment for me since I wanted to be a model. Also, what’s great is that Lenovo Legion lent me the Legion Y540 to use for my streaming. Despite being a gaming laptop, its specs and build quality are so good that it feels like I’m playing games on a desktop PC,” she said.

Aldover also shared her Top 3 memorable gaming experiences.

“These are the first three that came to mind, she said.

1. “Met friends from Overwatch that I am still friends with.”
2. “I started my streaming career because of gaming. I got to meet awesome people and ultimately became Legion’s ambassador.”
3. ”When Ashley Gosiengfiao raided me on Twitch. I’m such a big fan of hers.”
