‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ series coming to Netflix

Are you ready for a live action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series “Winx Club” by Iginio Straffi? “Fate: The Winx Saga” will be released on Netflix on Jan. 22, 2021.

“Fate: The Winx Saga” follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their magical powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.

A different take

“Fate: The Winx Saga” is a Netflix Original Series from Archery Pictures Production, in association with Rainbow. The six-part series features Brian Young (“Vampire Diaries”, “Kyle XY”) as showrunner and executive producer. Judy Counihan and Kris Thykier from Archery Pictures (“Riviera”, “The State”) plus Cristiana Buzzelli and Joanne Lee from Rainbow also serve as executive producers.

The cast includes Abigail Cowen (“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”, “The Fosters”) as Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen (“Grantchester”, “Lamborghini”) as Stella, Precious Mustapha (“Endeavour”) as Aisha, Eliot Salt (“Normal People”, “Gameface”) as Terra, Elisha Applebaum (“Undercover Hooligan”, “No Reasons”) as Musa, Sadie Soverall (“Rose Plays Julie”) as Beatrix, Freddie Thorp (“The Discovery of Witches”, “Safe”, “Overdrive”) as Riven, Danny Griffin (“So Awkward”, “The Gentlemen”) as Sky, Theo Graham (“Clink”, “Hollyoaks”, “Brief Encounters”) as Dane, and Jacob Dudman (“The Stranger”, “Medici”, “The A List”) as Sam.

Eve Best (“Nurse Jackie”), Robert James-Collier (“Downton Abbey”), Josh Cowdery (“Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”), Alex Macqueen (“The Thick of It”, “Sally 4Ever”), and Eva Birthistle (“Brooklyn”, “The Last Kingdom”) also star.
