Popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK and international pop star Selena Gomez released this morning the teaser for the music video of their highly anticipated collaboration,”Ice Cream”.
“Ice Cream” is the second single from BLACKPINK’s upcoming first studio album in South Korea, after “How You Like That“.
Sweet treat
The “Ice Cream” song and music video will come out tomorrow, Aug. 28, at 1 PM Korean Standard Time (12 noon Philippine Standard Time).
BLACKPINK’s music company YG Entertainment has been teasing the countdown to tomorrow’s “Ice Cream” launch.
YG Entertainment released a series of individual posters of group members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, and Selena Gomez.
BLACKPINK and Gomez also posted a clip of their video phone call.
“In a clip released of the call, Gomez gushed to the girls about how much she loved them and their music. ‘Thank you for staying up so early!’ she started. (The girls are in Seoul, while Gomez has been quarantining in California.) She then added, ‘I’m so stoked,’ she said. ‘I’ve been a fan of you guys and so like, this is a big, big dream for me, and I can’t wait.’ BLACKPINK’s reaction to Gomez’s words, with all the girls exclaiming ‘Oh my god!’ and generally being flustered, was filmed.”
Gomez has also announced that she has created the BLACKPINK-inspired “Cookies & Cream Remix” flavor for Serendipity Brands. Serendipity Brands will release it on Aug. 28 to coincide with the launch of the “Ice Cream” song and music video.
“‘For the Cookies & Cream remix, I wanted to put my own personal spin on this classic flavor by making it with pink vanilla ice cream as a nod to my girls BLACKPINK and celebrate our new song ‘Ice Cream,’ Gomez said in a statement.
“Additionally, the American singer-songwriter announced she will become an investor in Serendipity 3, the New York City landmark restaurant and brand whose over-the-top dessert, Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, has been the talk of the town since 1954.”
