BTS Universe Story mobile game launched by Netmarble
ARMY can now determine the fate of their favorite K-pop idols with the launch of the BTS Universe Story mobile game developed by South Korea’s biggest mobile gaming company, Netmarble Corp.
Available for download on the App Store and Google Play, BTS Universe Story is a storytelling game where the player’s choices influence the outcome. While it can be downloaded for free, the game offers in-app purchases.
What’s your story?
The game offers different gameplay modes, letting you either determine the outcome of unfolding stories, or create your own, as this Billboard article noted.
“The game also has a ‘Story Creation’ mode, where users can create their own story using in-game production tools, plus ‘Story Playthrough’ mode that lets players select choices in pre-existing stories.”
Apart from providing a story creation system that brings the player’s imagination to life, BTS Universe Story also offers a Collection feature. This allows players to collect and customize by unlocking different items and themes.
Worldwide success
BTS is the popular seven-member K-pop boy band, whose loyal fans are called the ARMY. Composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, they are one of the most successful musical artists worldwide. This includes claiming the two largest sales weeks of 2020 with the same song, “Dynamite”.
“BTS no longer count as ‘most musicians,’ as they have now scored not just the largest sales week of the year, but the two greatest seven-day sales counts of 2020. Amazingly, they have done so with the same cut, which has proved to be a blockbuster the likes of which have not been seen in years.
“The South Korean septet’s first all-English single ‘Dynamite’ opened at No. 1 on last week’s Digital Song Sales chart with 265,000 copies sold. That wasn’t just the largest figure of 2020, it marked the greatest sales accumulation for a digital single in several years.”
BTS also delivered a powerful message of hope at the 75th United Nations General Assembly via a pre-recorded video.
“’Let us reimagine our world,’ said BTS leader RM. ‘It might feel like it’s always night and we’ll always be alone, but the night is always darkest before the first light of dawn.'”
