Dalcomsoft Inc., which also developed SuperStar rhythm games for other South Korean entertainment companies such as SuperStar SMTOWN and SuperStar JYPNATION, created SuperStar YG.

The game developer has posted a video of BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa inviting their fans, called BLINKS, to pre-register for SuperStar YG.

Not only will fans enjoy playing the rhythm game to the beat of these K-pop acts’ hits, but also they can collect various artist cards and upgrade to more beautiful and powerful ones. The cards will be available in various themes.

Competitions and rewards

The mobile game will also feature a weekly league competition, giving players the chance to earn rewards based on their scores.

They can also try to outrank other global fans in the World Record competition and go for the Top 100 for each song. Apart from these competitions, they can clear daily missions to level up and unlock rewards.

The release of SuperStar YG comes in the heels of a phenomenal October for BLACKPINK, which launched “THE ALBUM”, its first full album in South Korea, on Oct. 2. Since then, BLACKPINK has been breaking records in South Korea and all over the world.

‘THE ALBUM’

“THE ALBUM” debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 with 110,000 units earned, of which 81,000 are pure album sales. Not only did this make the BLACKPINK album the highest-charting K-pop girl group album in the history of the Billboard 200, but also BLACKPINK had the highest-charting album by an all-female group since Danity Kane in 2008.

BLACKPINK also debuted at No. 2 in the UK’s Official Albums Chart Top 100 — and they nearly defeated the legendary British rock band Queen plus Adam Lambert with their last-minute challenge.

This is the biggest debut ever by a Korean female act in the album chart of the world’s third-biggest music market. Not only that, but BLACKPINK also made history in Germany, the world’s fourth-biggest music market. “THE ALBUM” debuted at No. 7 in Germany, making BLACKPINK the first Korean female act to pull off this feat.

BLACKPINK has also made history as the first Korean “million seller” girl group.
