Genshin Impact publisher miHoYo is bringing together Eren Yeager, Viktor Nikiforov, Tobio Kageyama, and Lelouch vi Britannia in its new game, Tears of Themis. Well, the Japanese voice actors behind these anime characters, at least.
The Chinese game developer and animation studio has announced that interested players can sign up from April 19-May 6 for the Tears of Themis closed beta, which kicks off on May 8. As part of the announcement, miHoYo also released a trailer showcasing the game’s Japanese dub, featuring top Japanese voice actors Kaji Yuki (Eren Jaeger in “Attack on Titan” and Shoto Todoroki in “My Hero Academia”, Suwabe Junichi (Victor Nikiforov in “Yuri!!! on ICE” and Shōta Aizawa/Eraser Head in “My Hero Academia”), Ishikawa Kaito (Tobio Kageyama in “Haikyuu!!” and Genos in “One-Punch Man”), and Fukuyama Jun (Lelouch vi Britannia in “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” and Koro-sensei in “Assassination Classroom”).
It’s a love story
Shanghai-based miHoYo gained international recognition for its open-world action role-playing game Genshin Impact, which it released last year and is now one of the highest-grossing mobile games.
Tears of Themis is the company’s first otome game — well, otome “Romance x Detective x Adventure” game. An otome game (otome gemu in Japanese, which literally means “maiden game”) is a story-based video game aimed at women. An example of an otome game would be a dating sim.
The game takes place in the city of Stellis, according to the backstory posted on its official site.
“Modern tech has given it its radiant neon lights but also cast long shadows of obscurity.
“Lately, there has been an abnormal increase in the number of mental illness cases as well as incidents that threaten Stellis’ social security.
“Many gentle and good people of Stellis have somehow grown violent and volatile.”
You will play a new attorney-at-law, who will solve the mysterious cases while finding out which of the four male leads is your destiny.
These four male leads are the private detective Luke Pearce (Kaji Yuki), top attorney Artem Wing (Suwabe Junichi), Pax Group heir Marius von Hagen (Ishikawa Kaito), and psychiatrist Vyn Richter (Fukuyama Jun).
So, are you ready to fall in love with Tears of Themis?
