It’s official: K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is collaborating with American rapper Cardi B. YG Entertainment officially confirmed the BLACKPINK-Cardi B collab when it unveiled the tracklist poster of “THE ALBUM” this morning.

“Bet You Wanna” is the BLACKPINK-Cardi B collab single. It also lists songwriter and OneRepublic lead vocalist Ryan Tedder in the writing credits. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK fans — called BLINKS — are also overjoyed to see the names of the girl group’s members Jisoo and Jennie in the writing credits of the title track “Lovesick Girls“.

‘THE ALBUM’ tracklist

YG Entertainment released two of the eight songs on “THE ALBUM”, BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated first full album in South Korea, ahead of the album launch as part of the girl group’s three-step comeback.

The first one was “How You Like That“, which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 to tie BLACKPINK’s “Sour Candy” collab with Lady Gaga as their highest-ranking Billboard Hot 100 hit at the time.

Their second single, “Ice Cream“, a collab with Selena Gomez, however, debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. This became the new career-best rank for BLACKPINK. It also made them the first K-pop girl group to enter the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Apart from “Love Sick Girls” and “Bet You Wanna”, the six new songs on “THE ALBUM” include “Pretty Savage”, “Crazy Over You”, “Love To Hate Me”, and “You Never Know”.

The BLACKPINK-Cardi B collab is the fourth time the K-pop girl group is collaborating with a Western artist, after Dua Lipa (“Kiss and Make Up”), Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez.

On Sept. 4, YG Entertainment announced that “THE ALBUM” has already “surpassed 800,000 stock pre-orders in just six days“.

BLACKPINK will hold a live stream event on the South Korean streaming service V LIVE on Oct. 2, three hours before the digital release of “THE ALBUM”.

Simply called “Comeback Live”, the live stream will start at 10 AM Korean Standard Time (9 AM Philippine Standard Time). “THE ALBUM” will be launched on digital platforms at 1 PM KST (12 NN PST), while the physical album will be released on Oct. 6.
